Broad currency run
Goal: Currency and broad loot
Compare Corruption Chamber with Alchemy Lab. If the route is unfinished or the next tier is uncertain, Alchemy Lab's broader value normally deserves the first test.
Interactive room decision tool
Choose a target, compare two rooms, and see which one fits the Temple route you can actually finish.
The Corruption Chamber or Alchemy Lab PoE2 question is a planning decision, not a universal ranking. This room comparison scores two rooms against your goal, then explains the tradeoff in plain language. Use it before spending a room slot, an upgrade, or a central path on a room whose support chain you cannot reach.
Fast comparison for a real Temple choice
Select two rooms and one goal. The result uses a transparent planning score rather than pretending to predict drops. It weighs broad value, specialist upside, tier payoff, and the support a room needs. A close score means your existing route should decide; a clear lead tells you which room deserves the next test in the planner.
Alchemy Lab is the safer broad-farming choice when you want value that remains useful before the Temple reaches a perfect Tier 3 chain.
Higher upside, narrower chain, and more dependence on a completed support route.
Steady broad value and a forgiving chain; less specialist upside than Corruption Chamber.
Scores are directional. Check the live grid, room tier, and support chain in the planner before you commit.
A room comparison helps when it answers a real placement decision. Start with your goal, then compare the two rooms against the Temple you are building. Currency and broad loot favor lower-tier value and flexible reward chains; corruption favors specialist support and a credible path to stronger effects. Boss and XP goals reward route support without claiming one room replaces every combat choice.
The scores are directional, not a market model, loot simulator, or guarantee. Use them to ask whether the entrance reaches the room, its support neighbors fit, and the target tier is realistic. A small gap is reported as a close call so you do not overread a few points.
For currency or broad loot, Alchemy Lab usually wins the low-regret test. It improves item rarity, stays useful while the Temple is imperfect, and lets the surrounding route decide whether a later tier is worth chasing. That makes it practical when one slot is open but the next offer may not support a specialist chain.
Corruption Chamber can win when the route already points toward Thaumaturge, Sacrificial Chamber, or another corruption payoff. The distinction is broad value versus a narrower return that asks the rest of the Temple to cooperate. If you cannot name the support rooms you will connect, the broad room usually keeps more value.
Corruption Chamber earns its specialist score from a clear identity. It suits rare-monster pressure, corruption utility, or a stronger Tier 3 moment when you can build the rooms that make the effect matter. The surrounding chain explains why the same room can excel in one Temple and disappoint in another.
Do not choose it just because the name sounds valuable. An isolated, low-tier room cut off from the entrance is weaker than a broad room that completes its effect each run. Compare it with support as a pair: Thaumaturge's Laboratory and Sacrificial Chamber can make the corruption line coherent.
The higher score is not automatically the room to place. Check the live chain: Generator range can make support valuable, Golem Works can strengthen a broad effect, and Thaumaturge can keep corruption moving. Smithy may look good for currency, but upgrade neighbors and entrance access still matter. The lookup table and planner therefore complement this comparison.
Ask three questions after every result: does the entrance reach the candidate, can support sit beside it without closing a key branch, and is the target tier realistic with the offers? If not, keep the route connected or reset the example. A stable Tier 2 chain is often better than a stranded Tier 3 idea.
Start with the question you are asking in the Console. Choose Currency and broad loot for a general run or Corruption specialist chain for a focused one, then select the two rooms competing for the slot. The default pair makes the broad-versus-specialist tradeoff clear, but you can compare a reward room with Generator or support with Thaumaturge.
Read the badge and scores for direction, then use the detail lines to see each tradeoff. Open the Vaal Temple planner and test the winner in your grid. If access, tier, or support coverage changes the answer, trust the connected route over the abstract score. The tool shortens the decision without hiding it behind one number.
Temple effects and upgrade rules can change with Path of Exile 2 patches. This comparison uses the site's current planning data and visible scoring logic, but cannot know future offers, your clear speed, or later market prices. Recheck the live Console and official patch notes when a number differs in game.
The tool does not promise profit. A high currency score can be wrong for a boss rush, and a corruption room is poor when the path is blocked. Use the score to choose what to test, then verify the route in the planner and guide.
These examples show how to frame the goal. They are starting points, not permanent rankings for every Temple.
Goal: Currency and broad loot
Compare Corruption Chamber with Alchemy Lab. If the route is unfinished or the next tier is uncertain, Alchemy Lab's broader value normally deserves the first test.
Goal: Corruption specialist chain
Compare Corruption Chamber with Thaumaturge's Laboratory. The winner should be the room that completes the chain without cutting the entrance, not simply the room with the larger headline effect.
Goal: Balanced or beginner route
Compare Generator with Alchemy Lab. Generator leads when its range powers several rooms; Alchemy Lab leads when you need a useful room now and the future branch is still unknown.
Alchemy Lab is usually the safer broad-farming choice. Corruption Chamber is better when your goal is specialist corruption value and its support chain is reachable.
No. It compares planning fit using room roles, tier direction, and support assumptions. It does not simulate drops, market prices, or profit.
The goal may not separate them strongly, or both rooms may fit the same route. Check access, support neighbors, and expected tier in the planner.
Yes. Choose any two listed rooms, then change the goal. Generator, Golem Works, Smithy, and Thaumaturge make useful support comparisons.
Keep the route connected, choose the room with the easier upgrade chain, and preserve a fallback branch until the next offer is known.
No. This page answers the room-choice question. The planner checks the exact grid, adjacency, tier changes, and Generator coverage.
